You might also consider other characters from Sesame Street to accompany your newly decorated Elmo children‘s bedroom such as; Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie, Big Bird, Zoe, Abby Cadabby, Oscar, Grover and more. Alternatively you might consider another one of your child‘s favorite characters to assist in offering a smooth transition for your little one from the crib to a big kid‘s bed. There are many options available for kid‘s character bedding packages and accessories and you are only limited by your imagination.
For bed covers, bed sheets and curtains, use prints that are either floral or have simple geometrical patterns. Animal prints, prints with alphabets, places, seven wonders of the world, etc. can also be used. For decorative items, it is advisable to not put any glassware or decorative piece in the kids‘ room. Instead, decorate your kids‘ room with games, childish furniture like a bean bag, some soft toys, toy cycle, etc. If possible, leave as much free space as possible in the room for your kid to roam about in the room with hitting at the furniture. Try placing a carpet at one location in the room where your child can sit on the floor and enjoy some games with friends.
Painting the room is also a great way to freshen up the bedroom for a very low cost. When deciding on what color to use, pay close attention to the colors on the polka dots. Bold and bright colors would be best. Next, we can move on with the de-cluttering of the room. Put toys away in storage containers. Storage containers for kids do not have to be so boring and obvious. It can be used to your advantage. Work the storage containers around the decor of the room. Choose colors that coordinate best with the bedding. Put the containers in the closet or under the bed if the room is too small. Closets should be cleaned and well organized as well.
For wall painting, go for colors that are bright. The age-old therapy of using blue for boys and pink for girls still works. So, if you lack a creative blend of mind, go for applying this therapy without a doubt. Other colors that work wonders in kids‘ room are rust, sea green, indigo, combination of white and blue, etc. As for room ceiling, if you can afford a false ceiling or a POP, nothing like it. Try realistic imagery on the ceiling, such as sky with stars, the solar system, some "Cinderella" or "Aladdin" fairy tale scene. This will help your kid to enjoy his/her time in the room and give you some free space to talk and spend time with your spouse.
