Just thinking about pillows make some people feel so comfortable, relaxed and ready to sleep away the day. Ask those who have a bad pillow and they will tell you that it is a nightmare to sleep with. However, many of us forget to swap out our old bed pillows when they need to be changed and only remember when our heads hit those nasty pillows. Pillows for our beds must be changed out every so often, because they lose their ability to be supportive as they once were when new.
If you favor sleeping on your stomach, chances are you do not want an overly fluffy pillow, one that your face will just sink down into. Stomach sleepers need a different pillow to give their head and neck the support while not smothering their face at night. Those who sleep on their backs need to have the support so that their spine is not pulled out of alignment during their sleeping.
I settled on using the wedge and another large pillow that I borrowed from the couch. The wedge supported my head, and I placed the couch pillow underneath my knees. I had elevated my head and my legs, and lowered my mid-section. Finally, I had a system that allowed me to feel supported and comfortable until my back healed. Now I could catch up on some sleep! The experience with my back pain has led me to investigate what other types of support pillows have been available. As I had mentioned, we already had a wedge pillow. However, I have discovered that there were may other types of wedge and support pillows on the market, with a large variety of applications.
Bedding and bedroom ideas practiced around Feng Shui say that the bed should not be placed so that your feet face a doorway, as this is apparently the way the deceased are carried from a room. Neither should your bed directly face a window as the glare attracts Sha energy. Also, there should be no more than two mirrors placed in a bedroom as this will excite Chi. Also, avoid placing a mirror at the foot of the bed or opposite a window.
