Actie is in Shurayukihime vaak realistisch, met spuitend bloed en bewegende schoudercamera, terwijl de stille beelden dromerig schoon zijn en de tijd bieden voor vraagtekens bij wraak. In 1974 volgde een tweede Shurayukihime-film.
