Lakeview soccer returned to the pitch on Thursday with the boys and girls both playing host to Kearney Catholic.
Both teams would fall to the Stars, with boys dropping their game 2-0 while the Lady Vikes lost 5-0.

The Vikings fought in a 2-0 loss to the Stars, but were forced to play from behind for a majority of the game after an early goal from Kearney Catholic.
"Obviously not the result we wanted, each time we play we feel like we're trending in a positive direction," Viking coach Aaron Rudloff said. "Credit to them, they made plays but we should have been in better position."
Kearney Catholic would score again in the first half, allowing the Stars to lead 2-0 at the half. The Vikings would hold strong in the second half and not allow another goal as freshman goalie Joan Jimenez was able to make some saves to stop the Stars from extending their lead.

"He was in a great position in that second half, he was right where he needed to be," Rudloff said. "He's such a great teammate, he keeps getting better and I like the positioning that he had."
Despite the 2-0 loss, the Lakeview defense played one of its better games of the season and allowed a season-low in goals.
"That's a testament to us playing better defense, I thought Adan Ramirez did a great job and he kind of stepped into that center-back role," Rudloff said.
The Vikings had few chances on offense as the Stars were able to hold onto the shutout win.
"We're just going to keep trying to execute what we do in practice. I think we were just a little behind on what we're trying to do and that's why you see a zero for our score," Rudloff said.
With the 2-0 loss, the Vikings remained winless as they dropped their ninth consecutive game since the start of the season. Lakeview will now seek its first win of the season on Tuesday as the Vikings travel to face Seward.
"We just have to do what we're coached to do and stay together as a team," Rudloff said. "I think these guys have done a good job, we keep improving and now we just have to take a step forward and see if we can get a win."
Lakeview girls
The Lady Vikes fell behind early against the Stars, with Kearney Catholic scoring three goals in the first and they added two more in the second to get the 5-0 win.
"We just didn't play good, we didn't connect passes and we were just struggling to score," Lady Vikes' coach Mike Zimmerman said. "It's just one of those days."
Lakeview did start the game strong and had a few opportunities to score, but the Lady Vikes fell short of getting the back of the net.
"Kearney Catholic had more speed than us, they were just more aggressive and they had people step up when we were moving the ball," Zimmerman said. "We had a few chances, we just couldn't score."
Senior Kiara Kula played in the goal for Lakeview after a red card forced Jayda Kingston to not be able to play. Kula was able to get some saves, but the Stars' attack was too strong for the Lady Vikes.
"Kula did a good job blocking some shots, they had some really nice looks and she did her best," Zimmerman said.
Some of the bright spots for Lakeview were Camryn Koch and Taylor Griesen.
"Koch really played lights off on defense, she worked her tail off back there," Zimmerman said. "Griesen did really good at connecting passes."
The Lady Vikes now fall to 3-5 overall, including dropping their last three matches. The Lakeview girls will also play at Seward on Tuesday.
"Seward is a team I think we can play with and compete against," Zimmerman said. "We just have to get to practice and mentally get this out of us."
