2A Weekend, August 7-8, 2010 LOCAL The Tribune, Jackson County, Ind. Carol Imogene Denham Helen Louise Plumer Dec. 16, 1923 -Aug. 6, 2010 April 30, 1924 Aug. 5, 2010 Carol Imogene Denham, 86, Brownstown, passed away at 1:55 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Denham had church memberships at North Vernon Christian Church, Seymour Christian Church and Brownstown Christian Church. She had been a housewife for 50 years.

She graduated from Brownstown High School in May of 1941 and from the Chicago School of Nursing on Feb. 20, 1957. She worked as a psychiatric nurse from 1961 to 1981 at Muscatatuck State Hospital in Butlerville. Born Dec. 16, 1923, in Orange County, she was a daughter of Harley C.

and Mabel F. Jones Atkinson. On May 10, 1941, at Jeffersonville, she married Obie W. Denham, who preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1991.

Survives include a niece who was just like a daughter, Rebecca Collins (Ron) McElfresh, Brownstown; a brother, Harley Joseph Atkinson, Washington; a sister, Wava Lee Atkinson Wheeler, Tucson, several nieces and nephews; and several grand-nieces and. -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters, Genafern Atkinson Collins and Estena Atkinson Smith. Michael Hogg will conduct funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown.

A graveside burial service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

5, 2010 Mary E. Bridges, 85, Seymour, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs.

Bridges was a 1942 graduate of Paris Crossing High School. She was a member of First Marion Baptist Church in Commiskey, where she served as past president of the Missionary Society. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, past matron of Crothersville Chapter 338 and a volunteer at Schneck Medical Center. She also was a homemaker. Born Feb.

10, 1925, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of Charles Edward and Bonnie Opal Peeples Fox, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Lawrence H. Bridges on Oct. 15, 1942, at Seymour, and he preceded her in death in 2006. Survivors include three children, Judith A.

Reynolds, Keysville, Larry Ray (Valeeta) Bridges, Bloomington, and Eric K. Bridges, North Vernon; a brother, Jerome Fox, Cincinnati; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, John and Quintin. The Rev. Jeffrey Hood will conduct funeral services at 2:30 p.m.

Sunday at First Marion Baptist Church on Commiskey Pike. Burial will follow in the church cemetery after the service. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, and from 1:30 p.m.

Roach, 58, Seymour, passed away at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at The Waters of Seymour. Mrs. Roach was a homemaker.

Born Nov. 13, 1951, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Beatrice Woolwine and Harold Eakle, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 18, 1969, she married Michael Steven Roach who survives. Other survivors Aug. 5, 2010 include a daughter, Melissa Fruchtnicht; two sons, Josh Roach and Michael Roach; sisters, Linda Smith, Vicky Eakle, Michelle Dorris and Cheryl Baldock; and brothers, Harold Eakle and Richard Eakle.

Plumer was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Seymour. She retired from Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus and was a former member of the Seymour Moose Lodge. She loved working in her flower gardens and especially enjoyed planting mums in the fall with her family. One of her specialties was her pecan pie that she made for her family.

The joy of her life was her family and her greatgreat-grandson. Born April 30, 1924, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Robert A. and Helen Gerkin Dorsett. On Aug. 18, 1950, in Seymour, she married Harold W.

Born May 4, 1951, in Columbus, he was the son of Bert and Helen Crippen Reed, who survive in Columbus. He married Jane Bowman in Reddington on Nov. 14, 1971, and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Bryan Reed, Columbus; a daughter, Lori (Billy) Reed Mills, Freetown; a sister, Cathy (David) Squires, Savannah, and two stepgrandchildren, Mitch and Madison Mills, Brownsburg. Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at his sister's home. Joe was born Dec. 24, 1945, in Chicago, the son of Leonard John and Caroline M. Holzer Gorski Sr.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and retired as a custodian at the Veterans Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He is survived by three children, Joseph, Michael and Debra Ann; a brother, Clarence Gorski; a sister, Linda McFarlin; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-greatnieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard Gorski brother-in-law, Gene McFarlin; and a nephew, Shannon McFarlin. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m.
