As a seasoned Music Composer and Senior Producer, I deeply connect with the essence of music production described here. It's a blend of technical skill and creative vision. My years of experience have taught me that using a variety of tools is crucial in crafting original, captivating musical pieces. A strong background in music theory, along with an intuitive sense of melody, is essential. Equally important is a willingness to experiment and innovate, pushing the boundaries of genres. I can add also that managing a project, especially in collaborative environments, requires not just musical talent, but also strong interpersonal skills to bring together various creative inputs and steer them towards a cohesive and successful end product.

Also, from my experience; a badly recorded audio is as good as no audio. We should pay attention to recording good audio especially on the field so as not to reduce the quality of the overall production.

It’s great to know DAWs, in the age of artificial intelligence, you really need to look out for anything on the market because chances are it would do the editing way faster than you do.For instance: Editing by Waveform is still a thing in classical audio editing like decades ago, while different pieces of software already have text based editing, where you can simply delete words instead of searching for the right waveform.

One of the reasons I run a block about immersive audio (apart from obvious marketing) that helps me to structure and understand my thoughts about certain topics. You don’t need to run a podcast or anything try to become an educator yourself and with the feedback you will really reconsider things that you thought are common knowledge

People Skills! - Artists and clients are unique individuals with tons of different personalities. You don’t have to be the best engineer. You just have to be adaptable to ever changing moods. It doesn’t mean be a pushover. But understand the client and what they need.Be Honest! - if you aren’t able to fulfill an artist or clients expectations, be honest about that UP FRONT. If you can’t mix well, say that! If you’re not a producer, say that! Most clients will respect that and might still want to build with you! But the worse is you aren’t who you say you are
