While I was talking with a friend‘s ten year old daughter she told me how she needs a cell phone. Having a pretty good relationship with her I knew this girl was not a very responsible person. She‘s a smart girl. But she‘s like most ten year old kids; she just doesn‘t take care of any of her toys or clean her room, and very often doesn‘t turn in her homework.
Themed bedrooms are great for kids. It is not only the beds that get the attention but every detail, color and shape is carried unto the nightstands, dressers, study tables, chairs and bookcases as well. This, in turn, creates a cohesive look in the bedroom in just one sweep. Besides, having mismatched items can create confusion in children. Parents can‘t simply put a safari animal-inspired dresser in an underwater-themed bedroom nor have cowboy chairs paired with space shuttle-shaped desks. Mixing a lot of varying ideas can also make the children‘s bedroom look cluttered and overwhelming.
Getting kids to love books is important these days. With the advent of modern technology, children as they grow old will more likely be to drawn to playing video games instead of having their noses on books during their free time. Since children spend most of their time in their rooms, their children‘s bedroom furniture should also include bookcases to spark their interests in reading books and other materials.
Painting the room is also a great way to freshen up the bedroom for a very low cost. When deciding on what color to use, pay close attention to the colors on the polka dots. Bold and bright colors would be best. Next, we can move on with the de-cluttering of the room. Put toys away in storage containers. Storage containers for kids do not have to be so boring and obvious. It can be used to your advantage. Work the storage containers around the decor of the room. Choose colors that coordinate best with the bedding. Put the containers in the closet or under the bed if the room is too small. Closets should be cleaned and well organized as well.
