Orange can promote creativity and concentration, giving you back a sense of purpose and helping you become more organised. Yellow will bring out your cheerfulness and friendliness, making you a warmer more well rounded sociable person. The Yang colours are pro-active and can be combined with Yin colours in a bedroom so that at night the Yin colours relax you whilst waking up and focusing on the Yang colours will energise you for the day ahead. Dark purple bed linen juxtaposed with brown and wooden furniture is a good combination for those who can not easily motivate themselves. The purple bed linen would be like sleeping in a healing cocoon whilst the brown furniture would induce you to work hard and be productive.
Traditionally, our bedrooms were a room for relaxation and recuperation, a place in which serenity and calmness would wash away the excitement of the day. Today’s lifestyle means that we are getting less sleep than we ever used to, stress and anxiety are on the increase and as a result our health is deteriorating with avoidable high blood pressure and heart disease on the up. Feng Shui can be used to balance our bedrooms into an area in which stress is combated and the importance of sleep is realised. By adopting the rules of feng shui to choosing our bed linen it can become a physical and spiritual barrier against anxiety and introduce peace into our lives. By using the colour theories of feng shui in our bedroom, we can achieve spiritual balance, well being and good fortune.
